Manny Ruiz 
CEO / Founder

Manny Ruiz is the CEO and founder of Hispanic Digital Network. A gifted communicator and former journalist, Manny is also the CEO of Hispanic news distribution leader Hispanic PR Wire and chairman of media monitoring service LatinClips, both sister companies of HDN. Between his duties at the various sister companies, Manny also co-publishes the nation’s only monthly Hispanic PR trade newsletter, The Hispanic PR Monitor. Manny’s professional communications career spans the fields of public relations, journalism and photography. 

Prior to launching his companies, Manny was a co-founder, media relations director and chief media trainer of the National Hispanic Market Practice of Porter Novelli (PN) public relations, one of the world’s 10 largest PR firms. While at PN Manny spearheaded Latino-focused media outreach and campaigns for numerous Fortune 500 companies and organizations ranging from Procter & Gamble and Dr. Scholl’s to the National Cancer Institute. While at Porter Novelli Manny also played a central role in the execution and success of the State of Florida’s anti-teen smoking campaign, “truth,” which he was a part of for nearly three years.

Manny spearheaded Florida media relations and was the Spanish-language spokesperson for the “truth” campaign, which for two consecutive years swept nearly all of the PR industry’s most coveted awards including the Silver Anvil Award of Excellence, the CIPRA and PR Week’s Healthcare Campaign of the Year, among others. Prior to joining Porter Novelli, Manny was a media-relations specialist with Ketchum Public Relations Worldwide Miami, where he primarily conducted Hispanic and Pan-Regional media outreach. 

While at Ketchum, Manny was a key media relations team member and Spanish-speaking spokesperson for the 1996 Silver Anvil award-winning program “Read Me a Story” of Visa USA. 

Prior to joining the PR field, Manny was the co-owner of Imageland Photography. Prior to this, Manny spent three years as a part-time crime desk reporter for The Miami Herald. While at The Herald, Manny participated in the newspaper’s team coverage of Hurricane Andrew that won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 1993. Manny is a Miami native of Cuban-descent. He currently serves as a board member of the Public Relations Society of America South Florida Chapter.
